Most brands start with a corporate mission statement. Married 2 The Game started with a problem I couldn't solve: I wanted to give my groomsmen something better than a text message.

I wanted something thoughtful, creative, and unique. That led to me hand designing custom headcovers to match our wedding attire. It was a small gesture, but seeing my groomsmen most of whom didn't even own headcovers actually use them and value them, sparked something.

The Problem That Changed Everything

The Evolution of "The Groom Golf Glove"

Post-wedding, I quickly realized that golfing with a traditional ring changed the feel of my grip. My wedding ring belonged to my Dad, it’s irreplaceable. The thought of losing it during a round was enough to make me swap it out for a silicone band every time I played.

That simple "newlywed" problem sent me down a rabbit hole. It led to hundreds' of dollars in samples, patent-pending designs, and, if I’m being honest, a lot of "wasted" money that eventually became the foundation of this brand. I wasn’t just looking for a quick fix; I was looking to create something new and to integrate my commitment to the game without sacrificing my play.

The Most Important Connection

Your grip is the only thing that interacts with the club (unless we're talking about the occasional "foot wedge" your buddy uses to improve his lie behind a tree). Aside from that, your glove is arguably the most important piece of equipment in your bag. Yet, most golfers are out there with gloves that look like they’ve been through the wringer, covered in dirt, holes, and sweat.

When I first started creating samples, I spent most of my time trying to to perfect the aesthetics, but I initially overlooked the most critical element: the material. A glove needs to be thin enough for feel, yet durable enough to last. It needs to fit like a second skin without being restrictive.

Finding the right supplier was a mountain I had to climb. I refused to overlook the details, ordering sample after sample until I finally found a partner who understood what quality meant to me. I wanted to create a glove that I wasn't just willing to use myself, but one I would be proud to put my name on, share with my friends, and, most importantly, sell to a stranger. I couldn’t, in good faith, offer a product I didn’t believe in. Version 1 of the glove fell short of my goal, which is why they will never be sold.

This obsession comes from a lesson I carried with me throughout my life. My Dad used to tell my Grandmom never to take shortcuts. In his context, he was talking about reaching over her stair railing to grab the mail from her mailbox. It wasn’t worth the risk just to save a few seconds, she could have easily fallen; the simple, additional step of walking down the stairs was the only way to stay safe.

That stuck with me: Don’t take shortcuts.

In life, and especially at Married 2 The Game, "the long way" is the only way. Each product is carefully curated through relentless effort and an obsession with perfection. If that means I only launch one product a year, I’m okay with that. I’d rather move slow and have the result speak for itself than rush a shortcut to the market.

As a small golf brand, I can’t afford to do anything less.

So why choose Married 2 The Game over one of the big-name brands? Maybe it’s our story, our passion for the details, or maybe you just want to be apart of what we are building. Whatever your reason, I am thankful you are here, and hope you find our products to be a worthwhile result of that obsession.
